FDL Europe (Frontier Development Lab Europe) pairs domain experts with machine learning specialists in an intensive eight-week research sprint to tackle some of the biggest challenges. In 2024, I participated as a researcher in the VIGIL team.

Our 8-week research sprint kicked off with an incredible bootcamp at the European Space Agency - ESA's Earth Observation headquarters in Frascati.

The ESA VIGIL mission to Lagrange-5 will enhance solar monitoring, serving as a key asset in an AI-driven system for forecasting space weather. Our team explored how multi-modal data from various satellites can improve CME and flare predictions and inform future mission designs like VIGIL-2.
